The NBA trade deadline is a week old and was quite active. Unfortunately the Anthony Davis frenzy will have wait until the summer but there were some interesting and pivotal trades made, so here are my winners and losers of the NBA trade deadline.

We start with the 76ers as far as winners go at the deadline. Philadelphia made another big trade by acquiring fringe all star Tobias Harris along with role players Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic in a 6 player deal giving the 76ers a talented starting 5 to be serious title contenders.

Our next winner is the Toronto Raptors (Yes I’m partial as a Raptors fan) getting veteran star Marc Gasol but trading fan favorite Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright and draft picks to Memphis.

Even the best team in the revived eastern conference improved at the deadline as the Milwaukee Bucks traded for Pelicans stretch forward Nikloa Mirotic to further improve their spread floor offense going forward.

Our last winner is the team that didn’t do anything or cave in the New Orleans Pelicans who didn’t give in to the pressure of trading franchise superstar Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers and wait until the summer for possibly better offers.

We now move on to the losers of the deadline, we begin with the Memphis Grizzlies who may have gotten rid of veteran and team icon Marc Gasol but didn’t get the highly expensive contract of Chandler Parsons off their books and did not move other team cornerstone star Mike Conley who could move in the summer but has to finish another season with mismatch roster not competing.

Boston is the next loser at deadline because of all the turmoil amongst the talented team and being inactive at the deadline as the 76ers, Raptors and Bucks improve their elite status in the east, but perhaps the Celtics are waiting until the summer to enter the Anthony Davis sweepstakes.

And our final and highly profiled loser of this trade deadline is the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are big losers after swinging for the fences and missing out on acquiring Anthony Davis, despite offering their entire young core group players in Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart with draft picks wasn’t enough to convince the pelicans.

After weeks of hysteria and outside pressure to do make the deal including Davis requesting a trade out of New Orleans, the lakers didn’t land the prize catch which could have an effect on the Lakers’ late season run for the playoffs.

The second half of the season is going to extremely interesting with all the new faces in new places, which only time will show if all these trades were successful or not.
