For years there has been talks about changing the NBA logo. Another good ole timeless NBA debate that as time goes along will never ever go away but only grow on, is it time to change the NBA logo?

Well NBA lighting rod Kyrie Irving with the backing of Vanessa Bryant wife of the late Kobe Bryant agreement and blessing that her late husband’s silhouette should be the new logo and the tagline of “Black kings built the league” which has truth in its comment I am going to attempt and remove race on this to give my answer on whether the logo should change or not.
For most of my fandom I have been a traditionalist and believed the logo should stay as a Laker legend Jerry West for it is one of the last remaining things from yesteryear this generation and future ones will have to remember where this game once which was would mean keeping the logo but with Kobe Bryant’s passing maybe it is time to change logo.
With Bryant’s untimely death the time maybe right for a gradual change in the logo from West to Bryant, from Laker to another. But if the NBA did correctly with a vote or with the approval and/or blessing of Jerry West to do so appeasing everyone from old timers, current players, and future players alike to me is the best solution for the logo change debate to resolved once and for all.

The Logo debate will never be truly resolved unless there are options, and the choices are clear. If they were to create a new logo the choices would be between Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant to pick from because the influence each player has on the game over the past 20 to 30 years. So, who would you pick as the new logo? For me because of the artistic symmetry, timing or untimely circumstances Kobe Bryant being the new logo at some point would not bother me if they properly acknowledged and retired Jerry West’s old logo as well again having the present and future pay homage to the past.
