With the NBA offseason underway as of Monday, chaos ensued rather quickly especially in Houston. To say there’s a problem in Houston would be an understatement right now with former GM Daryl Morey resigning last month from the team, coach Mike D’Antoni not returning and owner Tilman Fertitta increasingly becoming one of the league’s worst Governors, the Rockets once bright future as a contender in the West has changed quickly.

So quickly that it is Franchise star for the last 8 years James Harden has demanded his way out. With the hiring of new head coach Stephen Silas without consulting their star player who wanted Clippers assistant coach now head coach Tyronn Lue was the straw that broke Harden’s back. But Harden is possibly stealing page from Laker young star Anthony Davis who forced his way to the team he wanted to go to last season from New Orleans to LA, instead now Harden is trying to force his way to his way to Brooklyn.
Yes, not a typo Brooklyn, to reunite with his former Thunder teammate Kevin Durant and point guard Kyrie Irving making them an immediate title contender in the east if this were to happen. Now for in theory this absolutely is awful fit because there simply isn’t enough basketballs to share for all 3 stars to be satisfied, especially Durant who is returning from injury out to prove something as the lead man for Nets with first time head coach Steve Nash.
Which all of this is rumors along with the 76ers being interested in Harden because Morey is in the Sixers front office now so it’s all wait and see but Harden’s best bud Russell Westbrook also wants out but the want is not the same.

Russell Westbrook was apart of that Chris Paul trade because Paul and Harden did not get along and the Rockets catered to Harden (rightfully so) so Fertitta and Morey got Westbrook last season and the result was pretty much the same no title with a small ball line up. But during all this dysfunction Westbrook wanted out but there isn’t as vibrant of a market for him as there is for his friend Harden for multiple reasons so where does Russell Westbrook land?

Rumor is it is down to New York, Charlotte and maybe Washington which do not scream contender BUT does scream control to Westbrook who had that in his final days in OKC being the featured piece. Now I have never been the biggest Westbrook person, but I am sure he wants to win at some point, but the clock is ticking! But out of those options I’m going to say Russell Westbrook lands in Charlotte teams up with Michael Jordan to the Jordan brand strong along with the #3 pick from tonight’s draft to bring some sort of buzz pun intended (Buzz City) back to Charlotte.
As far the Rockets go this is going to be a step back season regardless if Harden and Westbrook stay or not because the franchise is in complete shambles and it of course starts at the top and trickles down. Your happy for Stephen Silas for getting a head coaching position but feel bad because it is this position and situation he has inherit and hopefully turn around, the saying “Houston, we have a problem.” Has been updated to “Houston, this is a f**king disaster.”
