Tonight, and tomorrow night are the play-in games to decide the last two spots in the playoffs after an exciting finish to this regular season. So, this is going to be brief and here are my predictions for who will these set of games that should be rather entertaining.

Western Conference Play-In Games

#7 New Orleans Pelicans vs. #8 Los Angeles Lakers: This game will kick off these games and probably will be the entertaining of the four games, the winner of this game gets the 7th seed but faced the defending champion Nuggets which is a jacked-up reward. The Pelicans are the ultimate treat or trick team because just when you’re ready to buy into them but then they bottom out, while the Lakers seem to get it together at the final stretch so for me it is an absolute tossup.

The lack of faith in the rest of the Lakers doesn’t outweigh the complete lack of trust with the Pelicans so I am holding my nose and taking the Lakers to win this game and get ready for a rematch against the champion Nuggets.

#9 Sacramento Kings vs. #10 Golden State Warriors: Another installment of this Bay area big brother versus little brother feud happens here with the Warriors and Kings. This season has been a telling sign that everyone’s beloved Warrior’s dynasty should end this summer but tonight may not be the end. As promising as the Kings can be the injuries to Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk simply hurts the Kings chance to make it back to the postseason.

Unless there is a complete meltdown of any sort from Draymond Green and/or Klay Thompson, the Warriors should be able to beat the Kings and advance to play the Pelicans to decide the 8th seed in the West.

Eastern Conference Play-In Games

#7 Philadelphia 76ers vs. #8 Miami Heat: This game may be equal to or better than the Pelicans/Lakers game with the 76ers and Heat. Recent history has shown us that the Heat should be absolutely terrifying here especially with them making the NBA finals last year from the play-in spot. Philly should feel hopeful with Joel Embiid back and looks good enough to make the push for the 7th seed but I refuse to go again Jimmy Butler in these situations, so I am going with the Heat to win and face the Knicks in first round giving us a possible throwback rivalry series.

#9 Chicago Bulls vs. #10 Atlanta Hawks: This match up certainly gives ammunition for people to hate on the play-in tournament because both teams are under .500 record wise but like vows said in weddings “For better or for worse” qualifies here. The Hawks have been very disappointing this season with Trae Young. His injury as well as the team’s funky chemistry has set the tone for the summer for the team. Where the Bulls started out incredibly rough but to be expected were always a tough and competitive match up, as much as I am a Hawks fan (Second favorite team behind the Raptors, yeah tough season) my gut tells me this is the end of Trae Young era in Atlanta with this loss here against the Bulls who will move on to face the 76ers to the 8th spot.

These next 2 nights or so will set up for the tone and energy of these NBA playoffs which should be incredible so let’s enjoy these set of games starting tonight.
