With last night’s NBA draft finished what else is there to do then go over the winners and losers from last night’s big event, so here we go.

Winners

Oklahoma City Thunder: The Oklahoma City Thunder came out solid in last night’s draft by selecting the young unicorn Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams from Santa Clara, and a RAW French prospect Ousmane Dieng adding more length to their already long wingspan of a roster leaving a lot of hope for the future in OKC.

San Antonio Spurs: No surprise here with the Spurs coming out well in this draft adding to their promising young core with Baylor’s Jeremy Sochan, Malaki Branham from Ohio state and Norte Dame’s Blake Wesley keeping the Spurs culture going strong.

Jaden Ivey: Jaden Ivey and his talents absolutely made him a top 3 or 4 talents in this draft but thanks to the good Ole Sacramento Kings he landed at #5 to the Detroit Pistons where he will be the perfect tag partner for Cade Cunningham and be a promising backcourt to look at for in the future.

MarJon Beauchamp: This next one is a winner simply for his journey to last night, MarJon Beauchamp had some peaks and valleys to finally hear his name called last night. From being a top recruit despite going to multiple high schools to having to return to his hometown community college to almost quitting being homeless to going to the G league and making it to the draft, the Bucks selected a quality player and kid in Beauchamp who will be a positive to their organization.

Losers

New York Knicks:  Let get them out of the way the Knicks were once duds last night with selecting Ousmane Dieng then trading him to the Thunder only to acquire Memphis center Jalen Duren to move him with Kemba Walker to the Pistons to end the night with future first round picks but what will they do? Now there is a chance they could put together a respectable trade package to get someone hopefully Jalen Brunson, DeAndre Ayton, or Donovan Mitchell. But knowing the history of the Knicks they may screw this opportunity up.

Sacramento Kings: Speaking of bad teams that start with the letter K the Kings once again did not disappoint us with their draft night activity. The Kings did select the right guy for their situation with Iowa’s Keegan Murray BUT they could have traded out of the fourth pick and gotten some assets and draft Murray as well. This is just another example of just embarrassing incompetence shown by this horrible franchise but honestly is not surprising.

Jabari Smith Jr: Jabari Smith Jr has a ton of promise but the situation he landed in could be problematic for him going to Houston. Yes, there is a ton of potential in Houston with him and Jalen Green but there is a possibility that Smith Jr could get lost in the shuffle offensively      and not fulfilled but fingers crossed.

The Draft Coverage: For me, the biggest loser of the night was us the fans, ESPN/ABC, and the draft experience. The reason why was the absolute disgusting, annoying, and obnoxious coverage done by Bobby Marks, Shams Charania (Shams) and Adrian Wojnarowski (Woj) who just took the piss out the draft by leaking and reporting confusing news/trades and the selections BEFORE COMMISSONER SILVER CAME OUT! This is the 2nd year of Woj and company being a part of the draft and has just absolutely killed the experience for fans, the players and their families and the overall intrigue of the draft itself, if they cant or he cant his news leaking ways and tactics to a minimum then please keep them off the coverage, the NFL insider guys don’t ruin their draft so why can’t they do it for the NBA draft?
